It was really great to hear Shoreham come alive last weekend with the sound of ukuleles, around the town and even at the railway station. The Ropetackle Arts Centre hosted the 3rd Sussex Ukulele Festival on Sunday 20th September. There was a varied selection of music at the concert and jamming sessions. It was excellent to see so many people enjoying themselves, and taking part in the free beginner’s workshops so hopefully this has encouraged a few more people to learn to play this lovely instrument. Guests at the event included Ben Rouse, Jimmy Mcgee, WOB, Blackcap, Scandomando, Flying Aspidastras and Meriels Secret. Jams were led by Wukulele, Bad Ukes, Ukaladies, LUSH and Uke@the Duke. The festival sponsors were Noah Ukuleles www.noahukuleles.com. It was also really good to see the café and the centre so busy.
